Summit on the Credentialing Economy

The Summit convenes leaders, influencers and innovators to drive transparency and improvement in education, credentialing, assessment and hiring best practices. Due to attentive participation in the Summit on the Credentialing Economy, held on June 7–8, 2018 in Washington, D.C., Saylor Academy is pleased to confer upon the recipient the following learned competencies: • Identify workforce training and higher education needs to meet the demands of the future automated, knowledge-based, global economy. • Develop a framework for forecasting future employer requirements and trends, so educators and trainers can anticipate and deliver the competencies and credentials learners will need to succeed in the workplace of the future. • Determine the various roles employers, postsecondary educators, and policymakers, have in identifying and developing the competencies and credentials students and workers require to succeed in a economy based on growth and innovation. • Explore the forces that shape how we determine, evaluate, and exchange competencies and credentials. Examples of these efficacies include the economic forces of supply and demand, new modes of currency, and positive disruption and innovation in the traditional workplace.
